We are well known locally for offering gregarious and attentive customer service and for having an extensive product range with competitive pricing against the bigger stores. Scouting South land established its headquarters upstairs and in 1976 bought the complete building. Originally based in Dee Street, the place moved to its vogue Day Street premises in 1988 and continues to be one of the evergreen businesses of the Invercargill CAD. Our deposit is eternal fully stocked with an extensive range and products and brands. Formally obvious as the Scout Shop, Southern Adventure is the final remaining Scout Shop left in NZ and has been proudly serving South land since 1965.
We are pleased to be a major sponsor of Scouting in South land helping out the Scouting community. It is also a major sponsor of Scouting in South land and its management model has meant its survived where others have failed. Both the shop and headquarters were moved to the offer location at 31 Day St in 1988 when mayor Eve Poole formally opened the premises. We are incredibly elated to be a locally owned and operated deposit and can donate an extensive range of tramping, camping, travel and hunting products to the local community.
Southern Adventure is has everything you need to make the maximum of your after outdoor adventure. Originally the Scout shop started in a small way, named a Trading Post in 1965, and was lo acted upstairs in the J R McKenzie building in Dee St. Business flourished and in 1968 the Scout shop moved to the ground floor of the Spears building, also in Dee St. The success and unique survival of this business is due to the loyal staff and volunteers who serve on the shop management committee. Southern Adventure is a non profit business and all proceeds go straight back into directly supporting Scouting Youth and Adults in the South land Community. The business has grown over the years to now offering an extensive range of tramping, camping and hunting products.
